Konrad Graser ascended the Gambrinus throne on Dominikanerstraße in 1866 as brewmaster and innkeeper. Before that, he had spent several decades as head brewer at the Michaelsberg Brewery, the oldest brewery in Bamberg, which has held documented brewing rights since 1154.
As the official brewery tavern of Konrad Graser (former head brewer of Michaelsberg), we bring Bamberg’s oldest brewing tradition back into the glass.
Konrad Graser ascended the Gambrinus throne on Dominikanerstraße in 1866 as brewmaster and innkeeper. Prior to this, he had worked for several decades as head brewer at the Michaelsberg Brewery, the oldest brewery in Bamberg with documented brewing rights dating back to 1154.
Konrad left behind extensive handwritten records of his brewing recipes. Based on these, his descendants are now reviving Bamberg’s oldest brewing tradition today: the GRASER beers.
Tradition in a glass
Our GRASER beers bring the original recipes from 1866 into the present, combining the soul of a rock cellar beer with the lightness of a pale lager.
